From a linguistic point of view not necessarily, it could be any time after ‘the coming months’, but in practice, given the way deadlines generally slip back, we’re probably talking about some time in the second half of the year.

Excellent news-Brian’s album ‘A Piper’s dream’ is one of my favourites-I love the clarity of his playing.
The new one will definately be joining the collection upon it’s release.
We will, but it’s Koehler and Quinn. BK plays on a few tracks, as well.
Now…if we could only convince BK to cut a CD and have Brian play on a few tracks!
Amen to that! I want 90% of the tracks to include a slow air on flat pipes as well. I have a tape of him doing airs in the stairwell at Elkins WV with his D 3/4 set.

Oddly enough for a piper at the meticulous end of the style spectrum, Brian says that he thinks that concert pitch suits his style of playing better than flat.

I’m sitting here listening to him play his flat set, hoping he remains flat, or flatter yet.
Hey, I thought he said we wouldn’t need to get it after we went to the SoCal tionol concert, ha ha. 
I agree with everyone else, his playing is to die for (on both the C and the D sets…both beautiful in their own way.) I’m really looking forward to getting the new CD…

I think it’s actually harder to play the tunes at a slow steady pace, playing the pipes as a solo instrument, unaccompanied, and make the pipes sound wonderful and articulate like he does.

Lot of stuff in that chanter or am i mistaking?
It’s a bit of card or paper in the bell of the chanter to make the hard bottom D easier and maybe flatten it slightly. It also helps fight autocran. You have to do that with many wide D chanters, it’s not a big deal. There is no other rushing in the chanter as far as I know.
I heard this chanter in person recently and it’s as good as a D chanter can get - loud, in tune, with very nice tone - warm and sweet. Brian also does a fantastic job of exploiting its capabilities.

Well Brian can certainly play at a fast clip when he feels like it. He was playing at a very brisk tempo at the afternoon piping recital at Miltown last summer. He was also playing K&Q D set which was sounding very nice. I was surprised as I was expecting Brian’s piping to be very laid back. So don’t be quick to judge
