A couple of tunes

I think I am improving since I actually got to lead a few tunes in our most recent local sesson. One tune I played was “Smash the Windows” which actually seemed to be a new tune to one of the other players. Anyway I was also listening for new tunes to learn for myself and there were two that I wasn’t able to get a proper name for. I am hoping that the incredible people of this list can help me with only the minimal description I can provide:

Tune 1: It was called something like ??? salute to the city of Limerick.

Tune 2: This is a reel. I have no idea what the name it but to describe it I would say if Bach wrote reels it would be like this one. It started with a theme. Began to introduce minor variations. Then it started modulating into other keys I doubt I will be able to play it on the tin whistle but it sounds interesting nonetheless.

Can’t go by much with the second one, but as to the first, was it 1) basically in G, 2) a slow air, and 3) had a bunch of Fnats toward the end of it? If so, I’m guessing you mean Limerick’s Lamentation.

I think I figured out the first one. It is “O’Farrell’s Welcome to Limerick”.

I don’t think its the easiest thing to learn.

But speaking of things that sound like Bach, the other day I found myself whistling Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, as a jig.
