50 States?

Norcal’s move to Idaho got me thinking. Do we have a chiffer currently residing in each of the 50 states? (I know there are several of us in State #51)

Can’t recall seeing anybody posting from Hawaii, Delaware, Maine and Rhode Island. But then I can be wrong.

Hm, I’ve personally posted from New York, Pennsylvania, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, and Washington, but am in the 51st now. If we need a Maine chiffer, I might be able to get my cousin to take up the whistle :stuck_out_tongue:

51st? Puerto Rico?

No, the UK!!!

I am currently in CA, along with several dozen others. Once in Idaho, I know of at least three other posters.

Hey, jbarter - if England will be State #51, which comes next - Wales or Scotland?

(Carefully tiptoes away from the fire)

On a more serious note, I think Puerto Rico might be the 51st state - if they want it. I seem to recall that although a majority of the Puerto Ricans want to remain with the US, a large percentage actually prefer the current status to becoming a state.

Hmm - maybe England could be the 51st state. That is, if Canada or Mexico doesn’t beat them and become a whole slew of states first. I wouldn’t hold my breath until any of these happen, though. :smiling_imp:

I’m in IL, and so is Talbert St Claire!

(Of course, so is Michael Burke).

I believe there are several of us in Washington (the left one, not DC).

A handful of us Marylanders…RonKiley, Lee Marsh, me, probably more.

Ohio is well represented here. In fact, it may house more C&Fers than any other state.

I know of at least one Mainer and two Rhode Islanders who post, possibly exclusively on the Flute Board. I’m pretty sure at least one person from Delaware, too.

I would have thought DC was the 51st state. Not sure if any Chiffers live within the District limits, but there are several in the area.

The “D.C.” Washington here! Anybody else?

HeySue

I think there are three people including me from the celtic hotbed of Louisiana that post. :stuck_out_tongue:

51st? Mexico?

I think so as well…there do seem to be quite a few Chiffers from the Buckeye state…and I believe that we are diverse in terms of WHERE in the state. I’m from Steubenville, which is about 2 hrs south of you, and 5 hours east of Judy (jkrazy52). I know there are more of us as well.

Not to mention displaced Kansans who are on loan to Ohio five days a week. I’m currently working in Bowling Green. Lovely town – I think I saw Jimmy Stewart downtown, talking to Ward Bond in a taxi.

I’m a Tennessee whistler

There are are at least 6 including myself from Pa.

Exactly what is Puerto Ricos status / relationship with the USA ?

I may be the only one from Virginia, not sure.

Puerto Rico is a U.S. Territory. A “territory” is a U.S. possession that either does not have enough people to become a state or has chosen not to become a state. In Puerto Rico’s case, they have enough people, but consistently vote down both statehood and independence, preferring to retain territorial status. Other U.S territories include the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, and Wake and Midway Islands.
