I play a 2006 version of the same model and they’re a great flute all round.

This auction is approaching its end, so here’s a bump and
a question–anybody know what this flute is worth?
I got a Celtic style flute from Martin when I was in Ireland in June of 2005. It was a special order with 3 "celtic"rings and a crown cap without a slide. I think I paid €680 for it. Let’s say the basic flute was worth around €600 then. Martin’s flutes have a smallish bore - more rudall than pratten for sure. Ah, but what a great, reedy sound!! Quality over quantity.

More than GPB 215. 
Went for 500 pounds, about $1026 dollars.
The preceding bid was 255 pounds; somebody
doubled that at the last moment.
Looking at the current prices this model with one celtic style ring on the celtic model flute the new price is 575 Euro or £ 380 sterling or $ 793 dollars, either way it sold for way past its new price.
looking online it appears that there are no Doyle flutes available new at this time, so that could account for the buyer bidding way over the new price, plus from the online info sounds like a great flute.

Going by a post last year in September 2006, new price was then 490 GBP, so this is probably right around the current price.
The old price sponge quoted (575 Euro) is quite old, I believe, but still listed on a website I remember seeing also.
It’s not bad enough that there are 3 currencies to deal with, but also old prices still listed on websites that sell them that just adds to the confusion.
I’ve written to M. Doyle for info about prices, etc.
I’ll post the info here when he responds.

OK, so the price I saw quoted last year on the forum, was probably for one with the tuning slide, where this one on Ebay had none, but still went for the price of one with it.
That’s pretty high, considering no slide!
At least two people doubled it at the last moment. One of them bid a little less tan 500, one bid more.

I sent the seller this email:
Hi-- is this a genuine relisting or is this a scam? What happened to the last buyer- or the last two bidders?
It will be interesting to see what happened. There were two bidders up around the £500 mark. You’d think the under-bidder would have bought the flute.
I was among the underbidders at 250 GBP, so I’d be interested to know why it is back. I checked the auction from class on my cellphone and watched myself lose. But 500GBP! My money’s on someone who couldn’t pay!
Maybe that’s just optimism!
The relisting is legitimate. Apparently the winning bidder backed out.
No surprise. It’s a great flute but £500 is a lot for a keyless Martin Doyle.

informs me (the
