10GB free on-line storage

I ran across a website at http://www.streamload.com . This is a company that allows you to store computer files on their storage, usually for a fee. For now, at least, to try to build up a customer base, they are offering 10 GB of free storage. For free. Free. There doesn’t appear to be any major catches, except you can’t upload more than 100mb at a time. Anyway, I grabbed an account. You might want to have a look.

Dale

[Correction: the free account is useless for file sharing purposes. May still be useful as a place to store backups for your own use. See below. If you’re looking for a place to put files to share, don’t waste your time there.]

Thanks. I grabbed it. Had to dig around a little for the free plan, but it was there.

Actually, you can upload as much as you can (unlimited storage) but your downloads are limited to 100MB per month. So, for example, if you want to share a 5MB MP3 file, that’s 20 downloads per month and you’re done (until next month).

Still, it’s free, and if you like it, you can upgrade to one of the paid accounts.

Just a reminder, http://www.spamgourmet.com is great for creating self-destructing email accounts for things such as free trials. Dale told me about that one too!

Minor catch: you can not link to them, for free

Denny

spamgourmet has some strange translation service, too.

spamgourmet - “Learn strong protection, release easy-disposable emails”

This address, a self of the will, destruct with three messages.

Ooops, you’re right. Bastards… waste of my time.

That WAS the technique I used!

Denny

Now they started sending me spam. Would you believe i was just selected as a very special customer, to get a month free when i subscribe to one of the paid services?

That’s why it’s so nice to use spamgourmet. I can now go to my spamgourmet account, and turn off the address i gave to streamload. They will continue to send me spam, blissfully unaware that it will all go into the bit-bucket.
