YESSSSSSSS

Ha !!! I did it…I played “Inisheer” without squeaking, squawking,or screaming,
I played without throwing the whistle across the room, Threatening the animals with bodily harm. or pounding my head against the wall…sigh…I played it

Dan

Well done! Now you have to post a clip of it, you know.

Now, ain’t that what its all about! Good on ya!

lizzie

Good on you, Dan! I doubt if I’ll ever be able to do it, but I can’t help but try to follow Mick Woodruff around like a baby duck and just try to play it anyhow without any hope of ever being able to sound like him or hope of loosing my mic fright. Keep telling me the attempt is the thing. Some song are easy, dunno why, but others, I end up passing out in the midle, like Soldiers Joy, can’t figgure out why I can’t get that one!

Ummm Wait6 a sec…I said I played it…I never mentioned that I played it good. No ornamentation. Just straight, Phrasing and timing were wayyyy off. And there is 3 notes I cant hear…Kari is the one who will be doing the recording when we can get another mic.
Dan

Congratulations!

Hi, Mick also imspired me last fall to learn the song. My band-boss thought I played it so pretty that he quickly figured out a nice guitar accompiment and his wife a
hurdy-gurdy drone and we played it at a
fancy Xmas party in Sacramento, Ca. I was so
thrilled and a guy at the party came over in
the middle of it and said it sounded “very
very beautiful”; so naturally I messed-up and squeeked on the next whole part (my
boss wanted a high “C” part, so I wrote a
simple one, but sure messed it up good).
Then he said to write some simple harmony
and we could put it on our next album. I thought it really sounded pretty that way,
but it isn’t going to make the final cut, as
it is HIS album, and its a Harp album! Oh,
well, maybe the next one. I’m glad you
enjoy playing it too, and lets thank Mick one-more-time for discovering it for us all.
Lolly

Well …I just the fortune to hear Joanie Madden play "Inisheer…Heh..I dont know Jack.

You can’t drive a nail with a sponge no matter how hard you soak it.

Congratulations Dan, lovely tune, and Kari we’ll be waiting for your recording.

Kari, (BTW-OT) You can drive a nail with a sponge … How?

  1. Thoroughly soak sponge sit the sponge down,
  2. wait 2 hours,
  3. spray sponge with mist sprayer,
  4. sit it down for another 2 hours.
  5. Spray once again and
  6. let sit again for a final 2 hours.

Now the secret ;o)… When sitting it down, do so in a freezer. The resulting soaked sponge should be able to drive nails. Or at the very least give Graphics Guy a sponge bath that he won’t soon forget… :astonished:)

Enjoy Your Music,

Actually, if I just placed the soaked sponge on the nail and applied it with a sharp stroke from a mallet, it just might work; but that’s cheating. The chances are, however, that the sponge would still be in one piece and wrung out.

I have many stories of things Daniel has done that he won’t soon forget…but if I shared them…LOL!
