I had a delrin Lon Dubh a few years back, great sounding whistle, and was after getting my hands on another, I still have the delrin, but it got damaged, if anyone has had a delrin model you will know the the edge of the blade that splits the air is razor thin, if you put the slightest pressure on it with a Q-tip it flexes quite a lot, anyway its the body that got damaged, long story.
so if you have one you might want to sell let me know, I would also be very interested in the new models that are listed on the whistle and drum site, there is a picture but it does’nt make it clear that the models being sold actually look like the pictures on there site, if it is like the pictures then it appears that the edge that splits the air is now a brass setup, yes I know I could e-mail whistle and drum and get the low down on them but I have tried this on several occasions and submited my contact detail each time I enquire, but with no reply, so if you know what they look, play and sound like drop us a line also.
Apologies for having trouble getting hold of us. I haven’t personally received an email from you - a while back we were having trouble with our form emails getting sent to our spam box - that might have been it.
The Lon Dubh pictured is the same design as what we are currently stocking.
many thanks for responding to my request, I will be sending another contact through via your site today, Blayne could you describe a bit about the new LD whistles as they are very different from the old style, also is the edge that cuts the air now made of brass?? I’m sure there are a lot of chiffers interested in how the new model plays, IMHO I thought my old delrin LD was one of the sweetest sounding whistle ever with a lovelly sound.
