Whistle tester wanted: Session player with small hands requ

I have a new prototype high-G tube for the Brass Serpents that I would like to have tested in session play. Does not require that you do a review, unless you just LOVE it and want to.

You must have small hands - see piccie

The Really Big whistle is a new Tunable Copper Serpent in high D. The beentsy one next to it is the one I want tested - a Tunable Brass Serpent in high G. I can play it (barely), but it needs tested by someone who (a) has small enough hands to really wring it out, and (b) has enough experience to actually do so.

For the right person, I’ll also send a D tube as soon as you report back on the G. I’m not looking for “This Is The Greatest Whistle In The Universe!!!”. I’m looking for experience in testing, and brutal honesty about your findings.

Contact me by email, please.
Thanks, and Dale, I apologize if I should’ve asked you first.

Hey Serpent,
I’m not asking about the whistle, just wondering what happened to Adeiladwr? I think I missed something (?) but I liked the name (and it’s not that hard to spell  ).
Jo.

I haven’t a clue. I saw him on chat a few weeks ago, but not since. He was kind of boring, anyhow. Some kind of doctor, I think. I never talked to him much. He was kind of weird, if you know what I mean…

Hey! I see you’re in Wales! Very cool place, I think. Email me with your email addy. I have some questions about Wales that you can probably answer!
TIA,
serp

Serp,
Nice looking brass whistle! Love the work on that tuning slide, blade, window etc.
Curious…what is the I.D. and wall thickness of that little bugger?

Thanks, Nate. The tubing is standard thickwall brass, 9/16" (0.5625") OD. The ID is 0.4825" with a wall thickness of 0.040". The place where I get the brass has old stock, and it’s been very uniform, so far.
Cheers,

It looks beautiful in the picture and slightly larger than my ‘G’ Sopranino recorder. Very very nice. Would sound nice in the Scottish Glens.

Darn! Wish I were a session player, 'cause I have dinky little hands.

Pretty whistles, Serpent!

That’s not a useful key for an Irish trad session, Serp.

Yes but tunes like Otter’s Holt,Summertime and Mairi’s Wedding will go nicely on it.

Ach, mein G-tootler ist verboten??
Well, then, let me rephrase that:
“…that I would like to have tested in nonspecific types of session play, not necessarily Irish Trad, but “sessions where we are allowed to play in keys other than D”, should such exist anywhere in the Civilized World”. Even… even… (shudder, cringe…)

…

folk music.

There! I’ve said it and I’m GLAD, do you hear?? GLAD!! (LOL)

Okay. 3 volunteers, one winner…

Selkie, you get it.

The other two are added to the pool for the next-up Great New Product from Serpent Music!

Thanks for your participation, folks!
C&F is a great place, indeed!

What a great looking whistle! Unfortunately, my big meaty man paws barely fit on a high D, so I won’t be the guinea pig.

Ach, mein G-tootler ist verboten??

Nicht verboten, aber…

Actually, after I posted, I started agonizing about whether it came across like “Oh, so you made a tube”.
