Whistle-makers and Websites

Firstly, to Dale: if this post is not appropriate please delete it.

Basically, if any whistle makers out there would like a simple website to promote their products, and as a point of contact for potential customers I’d be very happy to create something for them.

I don’t envisage any money changing hands - it’s mostly a way for me to become more involved in the whistling community. That said, if anyone should be so pleased with the result that they were tempted to insist that I accept a whistle as a token of appreciation, obviously I wouldn’t be so ungracious as to refuse. :wink:

My day job involves designing and maintaining webpages (among other things) and I know what I’m doing. The sites would be clean, attractive and coded to conform to the latest web standards (xhtml and css). The facility to feature sound clips would be a possibility, and each site could also feature a guestbook/feedback page if required.

I’m going to create a sample site to demonstrate the kind of thing I have in mind, and I’ll post a link here (if it’s ok with Dale) when that’s ready.

If the projected whistle site is in the spirit of the two you link to in your signature, then it’s really the way I like the web.

I had something simpler in mind than those two. Those are pretty heavyweight portals, and they actually cost me money for the SQL hosting for the database backend. If anyone wanted that kind of thing and was prepared to cover the SQL costs I’d be happy to make the full-on portal an option.

For the standard set-up I had in mind something that could be produced more or less at no cost to either me or the whistle maker (but which would still be very neat and professional-looking :wink: )

The quotes on www.dusksite.com change with every visit/page refresh. Check out a few more some time :smiley: Actually, that’s another thing that could be built into the whistle sites! Oh, and a mandatory link to C&F, of course! :slight_smile:
