Which high-end whistle sounds like a Clarke Sweetone?

I love the sound of my cheapo Sweetone D, but the tuning is a bit off and I prefer a heavier whistle in my hands. So which high D sounds like a Sweetone or is comparable to it’s sound? I don’t mind if it’s metal or wood, but PVC is probably too light.

Thanks in advance for hints!

The Carbony high D is essentially a Sweetone copy, with improved intonation. The head is an actual Sweetone head, while the ultralight black carbon fiber body feels substantial (but lighter than tinplate).

The Copeland high D has conical bore like the Sweetone, and the open voicing with minimal backpressure is somewhat similar to the Sweetone. Mike Copeland designed the Sweetone head, so the similarities are perhaps understandable. Copeland intonation is good, and the nickel silver body makes it one of the heaviest whistles around.

Does it come with a Whistling Billy monogram?

Stay Hoopy
Mike

Alas, no. But you can supply your own Whistling Hoopy:

All of a sudden I feel a trifle pale.

The sterling silver Copelands are probably even heavier but they sound really sweet.

If you can find a Copeland you should definitely buy it, IMHO you can’t find a better whistle!!!
