high-end whistles

Any high-end whistles for sale?

What key(s) are you looking for?

Loren

I’m looking for a high d whistle, can’t make my mind up whether to go for a wooden or a metal whistle. I already own lots of inexpensive high d whistles and a chieftain, which is a great session instrument, though to loud and heavy for the faster and more delicate tunes (I like to play medleys in the style of Lunasa). The whistle I like most for this kind of music is my inexpensive but fine black sweetone which although is not really loud enough and quite not in tune as I would like it to be. So in other words what I’m looking for is kind of a high-end sweetone.

Hey Loren,

Are you cutting into Thom Larson’s revenues with all the high end whistle selling you do these days? :stuck_out_tongue:

Geeze, I hope not Mark, Thom is, as everyone here well knows, a great guy and The Whistle Shop is fantastic, so I wouldn’t want to take any business away from Thom.

OTH, I do have to pay the bills somehow, and busking isn’t allowed on the outdoor malls here in Tampa…

Hey Sweetone,

someone recently said that Dixons sound a bit like Sweetones. I’m not sure mine does, but have you tried one? I really like mine, I’m playing them a lot these days, especially with all the chat on the site about them.
