Besides your pipes of course, what sort of goodies are rolling around in there? I have more Aveeno hand lotion than anything else it seems…hemp, sand paper, crucifix (can’t hurt!)…
Tin whistle, hand lotion, hemp (dental floss, actually), small needle-nose pliers, spare reeds, minidisk recorder.
I never thought of a crucifix. Is this for excorsizing the damned things? ![]()

This has been done on the uilleann list some time back too but…
A pair of small pliers, waxed hemp, tape..,that’s it
Sometimes a/some whistle(s), but i suck on those. (no, not litterally
)
Now that i have a new tube for my bellows to bag i might as well toss the tape out. ![]()
I removed the original tube for some bendable kind.
Now i’m back to the original ![]()
C and D whistles. Hemp. waxed dental floss, guitar humidifyer, contact lens case with blue-tack in one side and cork grease in the other.
Dental floss, teflon tape, hand creme, an extra chanter reed, cotton thread and beeswax, small rubberbands for the drones, a Sony ST10 digital recorder, a golf tee (to quiet the baritone drone if I don’t want to use it, a Seiko digital tuner, and usually a Copeland brass D whistle.
This may be an ignorant question from a relative beginner, but why the hand cream?
Also, in my case can usually be found small pliars, tape, waxed hemp, whistles galore, a flute, emergency beer money, and a notebook with many scraps of paper jammed inside.

Dry hands don’t seal holes very well…
Sorry about the double post.
I tend to have sweaty hands so dryness has never been a problem. The weather here in Spain is also notoriously humid. Good for the reeds though.
Thanks for the tip for the next time I´m suffering through a dry New England winter!

I’ve got borderpipes but I have:
Black waxed hemp, plumber’s tape, insulation tape, cloth with almond oil in it, digital tuner, small sharp lock blade knife, vaseline, Low D, high D and E whistles, busking money I’ve missed and maybe a bottle of something if I’m off to a ceilidh ![]()
i played at a blues club in chicago one night and someone for a joke stuck a vibrator in my case, luckly no one seen it.i think one of my friends done it for a joke. ![]()
Was that for tuning? ![]()
Nivea cream, tuner, various whistles, zip lock bag with damp Scott towels in it, spare reeds, hemp, teflon tape, superglue, pliers…
Anyone reading these lists would probably come to the conclusion that pipers are pervs.
All we would need is a blow torch and we could get ‘medieval on your ass!’.

Nothing.
I have to dis-assemble the pipes to fit the case.
Reeds, tools, music, tuner, wax & hemp are on the desk.
It’s 76 degreef F. and 61% relative humidity in here…
The full set is under the sofa, B, C and D chanters (with bag and bellows) are on the dresser. Everything else is out for reeds & refurbishing.
Dozens and dozens of cat hairs.
Hemp, dental floss, cobbler’s wax, whistles, spare reeds, tape, different colored beer tickets for re-use at other festivals, and caffinated peppermints. If I’m out on a gig and it’s a long drive, I get headaches from caffine withdrawl.

dental floss, chapstick, a full compliment of reeds, thread, pliers, pocketknife, stand, music, folding stool, superglue, duct tape, scotch tape, rubber bands, several whistles, a flute, pencils, tuning fork, clear nailpolish, wax…oh, yeah…and a full set of pipes…
Let’s see-- Thompson sub machine gun, 2 extra drums of ammo–oh wait, that’s my violin case ![]()
