Maintenance kit in your pipecase

If you were putting together a small but comprehensive maintenance kit for your pipes, that you would keep in your pipecase, for on the road upkeep as it were ,what would you put in it ?
or if you already have such a kit as I,m sure some of the more experienced pipers have ,whats in it?

RORY

Waxed thread, unwaxed thread, Xacto knife, small pliers/pincers, beeswax, 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper, spare reeds.

djm

and those 7 items surely become six if you fly! after all, you know how the tsa feels about waxed thread

I forgot about you freakwent flyers.

All of the above, plus a tube or two of cane, staples, a spare pack of cigarettes and some C-4 in the event I can’t get things fixed.

 Don’t tempt me!

djm

i see that right there as a good excuse to get a case. i want C-4!

mark

I would put Andreas Rogge in it and to keep him company Alan Burton.

Where can I get one of these kits?

Hemp, beeswax, cotton thread, small pliers, small leatherman (no, not a man in leather, ahem!), spare chanter reed and Evangeline Lily.

How about a spare full set?

My pipes do not go anywhere that my Leatherman Blast can’t follow.

maybe i am blind, but did anyone say plumber’s tape (or whatever tape you happen to like?)

Oh, geez! Good point, Meir. A roll of surgical tape and a wad of blue tac for emergencies.

djm

… you know, C-4 can be used in place of blue tac.

What no Black Insulation tape for tuning holes?
Or is that just a GHB thing

John S

The surgical tape leaves less residue on the chanter than the black electrical stuff.

djm

Don,t forget elastic bands in case a spring goes on one of your keys
