This is a serious question. My sarcasm and irony switches are in the off position.
Is “Bush-bashing” the same as Bush-criticizing? Is there a way too criticize Bush, strongly, and it not be “Bush-bashing?” Were the many, many people who maintained a constant criticism of Clinton engaging in Clinton-bashing?

On another matter, I seem to recall that Kim was most upset by the Lord of the Rings bashing that went on at one point.
To me, the term “Bush-bashing” seems to either be an over-reaction by supersensitive Bush supporters–the kind that either have no sense of humor, or partisan freaks that just can’t handle good solid disagreement. By attaching the phrase, “bashing,” they think it puts the critics on the defensive, when in reality it’s their own shallow defense.
But you are onto something. When they “explore problems” of the other side, or write an obvious negative commentary on a book they disagree with, with all the justified reasons why, they expect toleration, respect, and perhaps complete agreement. 
Who do they think they are fooling? Just good entertainment to me!
I thought Clinton did a good job–I think the country was overall in much better shape during his terms than it has been since.
I don’t think anyone will argue with the fact that he was a bit…hmmm…“morality-challenged,” for lack of a nicer way to put it–but show me a politician who isn’t. He just forgot the 13th and 14th Commandments, that’s all. (Thou shalt not get caught, and Thou shalt never admit to it.) 
So to give my answer to your question, when Clinton was in office, the contant criticism was just that: criticism. But now that his term is over, I think the way he gets dragged back into the spotlight again and again as a diversionary tactic by the conservatives does indeed amount to “bashing.”
Conservatives were quick to dish it out to Clinton, but they can’t take it half so well when equally valid (and sometimes equally harsh) criticism is pointed back towards one of their own. Like schoolyard bullies, they cry hardest when someone finally hits back.
So no, I don’t think it’s Bush-bashing, because he’s still in office, and is it is thus appropriate to both support and criticise as the circumstances warrant.

You guys must be smokin’ something. When George Soros gives Moveon.org 5 mil and they start cranking out public comparisons of Bush with Hitler, WHICH, I might add, was A TOPIC ON THIS FORUM, yeah, that can approach hate-speech.
Walk into a book store and check out the I HATE BUSH handbooks etc etc. There was nothing even close to that kind of FINANCIALLY SUPPORTED rancor during Clinton years. There is even a RADIO NETWORK whose main purpose is to unseat Bush.
Dale, you have stated repeatedly that you think Bush is the WORST President ever… I mean, think about it…is that really a judgement that can even be made yet??? Frequent mentions of Michael Moore and Franken, the former of whom called Bush a “deserter” occur on this Forum.
Continual references to “the unelected President” his supposed lack of intelligence, his "cronies’ getting rich off the oil in Iraq…It goes on and on. And its piled on here by the Euros as well.
Kim just didn’t like the company so she left. I stay to counterpunch and find common ground and take hits in return. Sometimes there is about a square inch’s worth of common ground.. Or maybe a whistle’s worth.
Why would anyone feel offended or threatened if someone from the funny farm had such unbalanced gaul as to “compare Bush with Hitler?” Anyone who would do that doesn’t deserve a response, it pretty much brings their whole cause to an abrupt end.
My new neighbor’s dog barks loud all the time, and the lady whistles to it to stop, about every hour, saying…“Lou Lou, now you know better than that.” The dog can’t stop, and neither can this other type of partisan freak. Maybe they’re both in love the the echo of their own voices, and the more they hear it (or read they’re own longiloquent posts over and over), the more they want to do it some more.
Please. I beg you. You can’t be serious.
