too many sharps

get a Bb

Yeah, someone might get hurt.

Thanks a lot.
B flat seems to be favourite.

Well, at least Bb is more readily available. But you’re right, many people do like that whistle key.

B whistle is useful for playing along with low-pitched B pipes, or for playing E tunes (or possibly G minor/Aeolian tunes).

The term “low” whistle is usually reserved for G whistles and below, since there are also corresponding high whistles an octave above that range. So a B or Bb whistle just below a standard D whistle would not really be considered low.

Cheers!

well…how about a B# that hasn’t any sharps

or flats…

Thanks MT Guru,

I am looking at all whistles under low D.
I have looked at flutomat & twcalc, but to be honest I cannot get the hang of them, too much info for me (and variables).

These things would be great for me, if only I understood them!

If anyone out there uses these things, and can help me understand them that would be great.

Otherwise its left to the JunkDojo elastic band & fate technique!

I have made some nice fipple mouth pieces out of UK 22mm copper pipe (1mm wide)and they have a straight connector.

One is like an Overton with a window of 14mm x 7mm, the other is like a Dixon type with a window of 12mm x 6mm. I need to test the playability & look for differences ( I’m a tinkerer).

I just need some divine intervention to help me work out the lengths (oh and where to put the holes), then I can begin playing.

Got the making bug I’m afraid, and there’s no hope, its contagious!

Actually, technically that’s not true, Denny.

B# = B# C## D## E# F## G## A## B#

And those double-sharps are extra dangerous!

Yes, those are monsters. Unless you’re our friend Hatao:
