Since there are folks on the board who own and/or play a bodhran, I’d like to let you know of a web site I have created on behalf of Jim Hunter of Ottawa.
Mr. Hunter makes the finest tippers (sticks for playing the bodhran) I have seen in my 18-year career of performing professionally as a bodhranist.
I hope you enjoy the site, as well as the links to other related sites.
Beautiful work! Almost makes me wish I played Bodhran…
I just wrote to Jim to see if he can make use of some of my leftover pieces which are too short for whistles.
Beautiful site! Very informative but I would like to see more pictures of tippers that have been made. Playing bodhran for sixteen years, I’m always on the lookout for new tippers, and I concur with the statement that smaller bodhrans are being played than the regular 18", my everyday drum is a Grady 14".

Oh dear! I clicked on this thinking it was a new game along the lines of Rcd*r Blaster . . . Hunt the Tipper . . .
Possibly involving using a bodhran as a darts target . . .
Sorry . . . ![]()
I’ll just scamper off to where I can’t do any damage . . .
