No Cran, Of course water does freeze at 32ā¦itās just that I interpreted your post to mean you didnāt get that the cartoon was using the freezing temp of water as an allegory for evolution & whatever other scientific theories fundamentalists like to dispute.
Iām not an apologist for either side of this controversy, but I think it is rather arrogant for either side to claim they know how life began. When it gets down to it, the matter is faith on either side. Either the small changes we see watching animals today have continued for an almost unimaginably long time, going back to single molecules dancing about and happening to give us what we see, or as the intelligent design folks would have it, the molecules were dancing because they were being pushed. Either way, it is impossible to prove, and I think theyād be better off studying what we can see. But then, Iām a chemist, not a biologist, and Iād like to think my science is more practical.
I agree with that. Iām not fully evolutionist (although I used to be) and Iām not fully creationist, but I do understand that even āhard lineā scientists accept A LOT on faith alone, even if they have qualms about admitting it.
I donāt think an apology is neededāanother way to describe the difference is to say that Bio might be more right-brained and chem & physics might suit left-brainers better.
