Up close and personal with my concertina!

Well, I’ve been obsessed with concertinas since 2004 and last year I finally received my Dipper concertina, the Holy Grail of concertinas. I did a small webpage with pictures of the concertina, and thought I’d share it with the whole world! (we all know the whole world browses Chiff & Fipples quite often).

I hope you’ll like my baby!

she is lovely

I admire anybody who takes on an instrument like the Concertina…tricky thing to be holding.

The Reels were nice..at one point in the Jig, I heard a grand tune trying to break out.

I’ve always felt that the Concertina was invented for Hornpipes.

Stick with it.

Slan,
D.

Yeah the concertina is such a challenge, I could play whistle relatively nicely after three years, but I still feel shaky on the concertina after five years. Most of my tunes feel like they’re trying to break out  Right now, I am satisfied if I can manage to play a tune through keeping a good, steady rhythm. This thing is so mecanical.

You are right, hornpipes on concertinas are the best!

Really lovely. I’m considering trying to learn concertina but it seems rather daunting.

Looks nice! I love the concertina. I wish I had the time, patience, and money to have a go at it myself.

Very nice! I should have mine within the next few months…
