tutors? Art of UP or the Mad for trad??

any suggestions on this one? What is the better tutor for the absolute newbie? the art of UP from the Irish website or the mad for trad??

Both have been suggested by PMs (thanks much to all for all of the advice it is really excellent!!!)

Personally, I think the NPU series, Art of UPs, is superior. I’m not as keen on Sean Potts’ piping, and certainly the M4T CDRom doesn’t show you as much as the NPU series. The Art of UPs is actually in four volumes. All are on DVD except the third installment (so far).

Start with the NPU video Vol1. Learn all tunes from Vol1 and then you can continue with any other tutorial material. When you are capable of playing all tunes from NPU Vol1 along with the instructor at the speed the instructor plays (Peter Street being the fastest and the Heather Breeze reel with the triplets being the most difficult), you are not a beginner any more.
