tunes and stuff

I am planning soon on saving up for a deposit to buy a 3/4 set from C.J. Dixon. I have read reviews and listened to sound samples of his pipes and decided that his pipes are a very good bet when it comes to quality and affordability. In the meantime, I want to learn some slow airs on the whistle to transfer them to the pipes proper when I actually manage to get them. I have been listening to clips from tinwhistletunes.com and have made a list of tunes to find music for, or to ask if there are any books that might have them. The tunes I want to get are Lament for Limerick, Eleanor Plunkett, and anything by O’Carolan, the pipe on the hob, out on the ocean, a stor mo chroi, and any other tunes that anyone thinks is a good one to know, I would really apreciate any information.

Couple links ye might find handy…

There’s enough tuneage in the above links to keep busy for a good long while. Good resource… though nothing can replace another, experienced piper for learning how to play, and play tunes.
