tunable high D

hi folks,
I need a tunable high D whistle. It should be loud enough but not shrill. I live in Europe and I need that whistle very soon. any ideas what I should buy and where I can buy it?
thanks for your help,

You might browse around on these websites:

Your budget and type of music played will determine which tunable high D whistle.

Hi Claudine! Ça va? Haven’t seen you here in a long time.

Do you still have your Burke D? Do you want something louder than that? Maybe if you tell us your intended use, we can suggest something specific.

I still have the Burke, but the tuning slide is blocked

Right after writing my last post, I remembered that I had the same problem (tuning slide stuck) a few years ago. Back then you had given me some advice how to fix the problem. Now I found that old thread, followed your instructions and voilà! the Burke is in working order again.

I don’t remember what I told you, but I’m very glad it worked! :stuck_out_tongue:

Hold it over a hot flame for a few minutes and bang it on the edge of the table a few times?

Yes, that was probably it.

That might work on the tin whistle, but it’s no substitute for seeing a urologist. :astonished:

Please don’t try that with a wooden whistle! :astonished:

claudine,

Have you ever played a Susato ? Susato is about the loudest I’ve played. Does really well in outdoor or crowded settings. Also, their unit-to-unit quality is the best I’ve seen in whistles.

see: http://www.susato.com

If you’re in a real hurry, I’d send an email to them and ask if they have any distributors close to you.

What event are you gearing up for ?

trill

yes I have a Susato but I don’t really like it. as my Burke is playable again, I will use that for my little gig (outdoor yes).
