Is there a list (maybe on this very website, but I haven’t seen it) of top-notch Irish trad. recordings? Maybe someplace that has CD reviews?
I’m looking for the old school stuff, (no electric bass for instance).. Where’s a person to look?

Do you mean whistle recordings? Try Mary Bergin, Paddy Maloney and Sean Potts, Micho Russell, etc.
If you are having a hard time locating such things I might suggest two sources to check into: www.celticgrooves.com and www.ossianusa.com
Actually, both places would probably have a ton of suggestions for you as well.

In answer to my own question. I’ve just found “The Session.Org” It looks like an excellent resource.
It was mentioned in the “Irish Traditional Music Forum”, right on the C&F forums index!
Yes, I wil be looking for whistle recordings in particular, but will be looking for other things too of course.
Another good site!
Hi Monster—
I’m going to put down a couple of url’s of discussions we’ve had here recently that deal with recordings, places that review them, and places to get them.
You’ll have to sift through some other stuff because the people weren’t asking the exact same questions that you are. Hope they help.
