Tom O'Rourke

Sadly died April 20th 2006. Tom was a Fermanagh man who lived in Corby Northamptonshire for many years. He played both Uilleann and GHB’s and was pipe major for Sewart and Loyds pipe band in Corby. He was a great friend and influenced our early efforts at pipemaking.
Our condolences to his wife Lucy and the family.

Sorry to hear that. I met Tom only once or twice when came up to meet Geoff Wooff and myself when we were staying at a friend’s place near Lincoln and later at the Willie week the same year (1989). He had some great stories and some very interesting sets of pipes (which are in good hands now). One of piping’s unassuming gentlemen.
