Tom McElvogue

Hi Tom, just like to say it will be an eagerly awaited flute cd here in Glenavy, looking forward to it very much !!

Let us all know about the launch.

Cheers Brendan M.

Hi all,
thanks for the interest and encouragement. I am happy to announce the CD which has been in the pipeline for the last seven years is finally complete. I have been in the process of updating my website today and will be updating with more music clips and photographs etc over the next few weeks. Please feel free to listen to the track previews on the music page and of course the CD can be purchased from the website directly.

Regards,
Tom McElvogue

Great news, Tom!

indeed!! congratulations!!

There’s good reason why Niall Keegan himself called Tom the best traditional flute player out there.

I’m excited for Tom. This one should be a must-have.

Way to go, Tom!

Hurrah!

You know… as much as have enjoyed Tom’s talent and efforts I can’t for the life of me understand the proper way to pronounce his last name.

Could someone give me a phonetic reading?

Thanks!

Xmas wish list addition… Website clips sound fantastic! It’s a tad expensive, though, (E21.60 for delivery out of Eire) and apparently no download option as yet (though I’d prefer the hard copy CD myself)!

I’d expect “MACK-el vogue” would get the man’s attention without a fist to my nose.

spot on MTGuru! Couldn’t have said it better myself.

Regards,
Tom MACK-el vogue

I’ve taken delivery of mine! Absolutely briiliant stuff, I’ve been listening to it almost constantly since it arrived. It is technically first-class playing with the added bonus of having drive and purpose (am I allowed to say that it has b*lls?).

All I can say is: Tom, get recording NOW cos if it took seven years to get this one out, I don’t want to waiting years and years for the next one.

Congratulations!

Paul

problem is, paul, it’s all the tunes he knows.

obviously kidding.

just goes to show he’s a perfectionist just as G.Shannon was for his first recording.

I’d been listening to some of the tracks for a couple years now – tom was good enough to have shared a couple – and the finger work and expression is simply amazing. And his own compositions are top-notch.

Yes, please! The recording is great. Wonderfull playing. Please share with us more of your talents, Tom!
Thanks also for the quick delivery of the cd.

Just got my copy this morning, brilliant stuff, it will be in my machine non-stop for a while!

Just received and listened to my copy. This is an excellent, excellent CD. Such lovely tone, too, Tom - just the sort of sound I am looking for.

tom, thank you so much for the quick delivery of the CD ! i love it, and i really like your take on some tunes that i know. great CD and one that will play over and over for the next month…so many great new tunes to learn !

Yes, I’ve got mine too and its on constant rotation.

Tom Rocks.

Such lovely tone, too

go figure…an antique boxwood Rudall.
who’da thought?

Counterpoint: Tom could make a sewer pipe sound like a choir of angels.

Rob

and i’ve been told I can get tunes out of a thimble.
w-t-f?

just pointing out to the pointy heads that there are some exceptionally good antique flutes out there.

Got my copy last week and it’s been on the ipod,in the house and in the car since.
Congrats Tom on a wonderful CD, your playing is phenomenal and full of great twists and turns that are truly McElvogue classics.

Magic stuff altogether.
