Hi Dale-- this is to let you know that I posted your Copeland Low D this afternoon via Priority Mail, so you should have it early next week.
I tried and tried to have it engraved “To Dale, from your Chiff and Fipple Family September 2005”, but nobody wanted to do the job. One mall place wouldn’t engrave anything they didn’t sell that cost over $200 for fear of damaging it. Other places wouldn’t do it because their engraving equipment couldn’t accomodate the shape and size of the whistle. Nonetheless, the sentiment is there.
Dale, MANY people contributed to this-- well in excess of the purchase price. As promised I donated all excess funds to Hurricane Katrina relief through my wife’s college which matched it dollar for dollar.
I think I speak for everyone here when I say that we truly appreciate what you’ve done and continue to do for this community. Your work for Chiff and Fipple has created a wonderful resource for all of us, and our lives would be poorer without it. You remain The Undisputed! Paul
Through the forums I have been exposed to so many aspects of ITM, and other traditional musics too, that I had never encountered before. I have had a lot of fun here too. Thank you for providing this opportunity for nothing. I still can’t figure this out actually. But hey, I’m not complaining!
Dale: My first ever message concerning whistles was sent to you, so many years ago…You answered with wisdom and humor, and started me on my whistle path. C+F is the best cyber place I go. I have learned much, and have made many wonderful long-distant friends. It is because of you…
Enjoy your Copeland.
