Tin Whistle -- Sword Against Satan????

I recently bought a paperback called “The Devil You Know” by Mike Carey, apparently a successful graphic novel guy making his first regular prose effort.

The blurb on the back talked about an unemployed exorcist in London and the story being a cross between a private eye thriller and ghost story. Good enough for me.

I’m 60 pages or so in and it turns out that ghosts are visible all over London and getting rid of them is recognized line of work. The hero’s primary tool to drive out spirits squatting in living beings is Clark D. Who knew?

My apologies if someone else has already pointed this out. And no unannounced spoilers until I finish it in a week or so.

Very interesting. Does he play well or poorly?

So far not much about the tunes although it apparently works better if the player selects the right tune for the spirit. He carries his whistle in a special holster in his overcoat.

If he has difficulty with the Clark D, then a high A whistle would probably at least drive the ghosts crazy if nothing else.

hopefully the song isn’t like in “Attack of the Killer Tomatoes”.
