Tim Edey and McGoldrick....sick, sick, sick

I came onto this video (and a couple others) of McGoldrick playing with Tim Edey on guitar, who’s incredible.
Apparently, he says in the clip, his playing partner couldn’t make it, so he couldn’t think of anyone better than McGoldrick.
Okay. Good. As if.
Great sound. Virtuoso to the Nth degree.

So i hunted for Edey and his regular playing partner to hear what they do.
OMG. Really? :open_mouth:

I’m just going to go crawl back under my little rock over here…
Don’t mind me while I take up knitting now…

LOL

Wow.

I was lucky enough to see Power and Edey live in an intimate gig at Broadstairs Festival a few years back. Quite superb. Edey is jaw droppingly good on guitar. He’s also a virtuoso on melodeon/button accordion, and a decent singer…

Great stuff, thanks!

But wait, there’s more! McGoldrick on flute…and then see what happens at 5:00. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5tQt8zC0DnQ

McGoldrick is supremely talented. Nothing he does musically surprises me. One of my heroes.

They both played at the “Big Whistle Festival” in Bury, Lancashire last saturday afternoon.

Their performance was magnificent in every respect. Mike played flute, pipes and whistle, though not all at the same time !!!

The session ended with Mike and Tim being joined by Mike’s father and three nieces in a whistling wonder.

Brilliant. Tim’s a savage box player, too.

Fantastic stuff! Tim is such a creative guitarist, and always so much joy when he’s playing. I’d love to see Tim and Mike do more gigs, it would be awesome!!!

JSCWhistler, you’re a dead ringer for a fellow I know.
