I’ve just been looking at this item on ebay, "What’s the big Secret, Why No Pictures, If the items for sale is it so much trouble to send in a picture for all pipers to see what a reamer looks like, I my self might have been interested in biding for it, if there was something to see. I bet there’s a good reserve on it though, Cheers Mate, Hears to an other helpful pipe maker. :tomato:

…You gotta be kidding. I highly doubt Tim Britton is gonna cheat you or anyone. Why don’t you email him and ask him about it, I am sure he would be only too happy to descibe it for you or maybe show you a picture.

When in doubt, contact the Seller.

Not that the half-cocked inflammatory comments above really merit much attention, but…even good pictures won’t capture much important detail about a reamer. It shows up as a tapered metal rod (which is what it is, of course), but you’d have to go to a hell of a lot of trouble to get a visual sense of the graduation of the taper itself or the quality of the cutting edge. Like Joseph said, Tim isn’t selling crap.

row, row, row your boat…

Let me add another voice. I’ve had one of Tim’s reamers for years now and the quality is excellent. You’re also getting his chanter measurements/plan on top of that. He probably didn’t include pictures because it’s a bother for someone not familiar with computers, or because it’s simply a bother for something that everyone will know the looks of sold by someone everyone knows the reputation of.

Best,

Dionys

SOLD!! $520.00 U.S. Thats an expensive reamer but maybe cheap with the accompanying plans. Imagine how many chanters in every type of wood.!
Wish it was me!

Hey! Thanks for all the votes of confidence! Fact is I don’t have a digital camera, was gonna borrow one and didn’t get to it. It was fun reading all this though!

BTW, these reamers are too tricky to make for all but a very few specialists and they have a 50% throw away rate, thus the price.

Tim

Hey Tim,

Let me know when you have another one to sell… In the mean time, I’ll try and find a machinist around here to make me a D-bit reamer.
