If your signing the drawing does that mean you are the artist or was a young Banksy walking regents park in 92 and decided to draw you .

No I am not the artist but I am the subject of and the owner of the original, hence my signature.I did not get the artists name nor did he tell me so it could be absolutely anyone..Its a bit like the Portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo, signing the portrait of her by Leonardo Da Vinci. If she had, just think how more fascinating the Mona lisa would be.
In more recent times of course many folk sign photographs of themselves for fans. This is just a variant on a theme.I sign for friends of lepers,as by buying one ye are befriending a leper in Tanzania and helping towards their treatment and cure.
Go Raibh Mile Maith Agat

For general information…A copy of the above drawing was sold at Auction in London on Friday 23 September for £110
I am still selling these signed limited addition copies for £5. + P & P
A copy is held in NPU Archives at Dublin.
So if ye want to help a good cause ,gain a not insignificant piece of art for a fraction of its value, and help to make a difference ,a real difference to someones life smitten by leprosy..then contact me.
God Bless ye all and keep ye in the palm of His hand.

Put me down for one , do you have a paypal account and I’ll pay that way or a cheque if you so require. Either way let me know and I’ll do what ever is easiest for you.

Cheers

Mei

Update: A copy of this drawing has now been asked for by the Irish Traditonal Music Archive in Merrion Square Dublin. So the Provenance on this sketch is now quite good.We have expanded our Charity to help a Lepers Colony and hospital in Sri Lanka.
If ye want one and help a good cause then PM me.
Thanks

Today being the feast of St Lazarus I thought I would remind ye that I am still selling prints of this drawing for our Charity. All proceeds will go to our lepers in Sri Lanka.
God Bless.

Athbhliain shona duit…On this, the cusp of a New Year ,I would like to add a little extra to my appeal for our lepers.I am still selling prints to raise funds and I have decided that when I have sold all 1000 copies then I will donate a copy of O’Neills Irish Minstrels and Musicians. As ye know this book is very rare and is out of print.I will get someoneto draw a random number from 1 to 1000 the lucky number will receive the book simple as that. All prints are numbered and I keep a record of who I have sent to.The prints themselves are rare and all money goes to the lepers so its a win win situation all round. The quicker they are sold the quicker the draw.
God Bless ye all and may the Sun shine on ye in 2012.

Thats a very nice prize ,well worth the five pound raffle ticket even without the drawing.

RORY

Well thankye kindly Rory…I think so too.Anyways God Bless Australia I say…a copy of the Print has been sold to a buyer with an obvious nose for Artistic Curios and exquisite taste, in Victoria, for £115 beating the London record by £5…Human kindness is alive and well my little posums…
