I just tried that and it does, indeed, cause my Sindt A to clog.
And now my beard is stuck to the mouthpiece.
Any idea what will dissolve a Gummi Bear?
Best wishes.

That’s funny. I was talking to somebody else about this problem and I said something about how I wonder how long it will be until people tell me not to eat gummybears and jellybeans while playing it…
Not only do I not eat during anytime near when I play, but I go through a pretty thorough (some might say obsessively overboard) hand and mouth cleansing process before playing. I brush teeth and tongue with a very little amount of toothpaste about 35 minutes before playing, then rinse with peroxide, then rinse with water about a million times (really, a lot of times. Swishing , gargling, spitting, etc) and then wait a bit (I make sure there is zero paste residue in mouth before playing) . For the hands I wash with dish soap and water, then completely dry before touching any of my fancy whistles.
My other sindts don’t have this problem one bit.Again, not saying all sindts do. What I am saying is that I have this problem with this one sindt, then decided to make the post when I learned of three other sindt owners having the same problem.
I did a cleaning on it again and reapplied dish soap a couple days before making my initial post on here. Strangely enough, it’s been about a week since I applied it, and the extreme clogging hasn’t come back yet! Sometimes when I clean and use dish soap the non-clogging lasts for a week, but usually it’s more like 3 days of heavy playing, then it comes back. I have my fingers crossed that it won’t come back again!
I’m hoping that perhaps it was just something in there causing the clogging, and perhaps whatever it was is gone now. I recently began cleaning it with a styrofoam plate sliver, and I think maybe that does a lot better job than the business card. I dip it in the soap solution then I smoosh it down flat so it’s not too tight in there, then gently get around the bottom and sides .It’s really hard to clean the top of a windway with a material that bends, especially when wet. Any recommendations for ways to get a good cleaning on the roof of the windway?
I have 3 Sindts, 2 brass, 1 sterling, all with the Sindt head of delrin with the brass “horseshoe.” Never had a problem with any of them; in fact the sterling is my all-time go to favorite whistle ever and has been for close to 5 years now. OTOH, I’ve never really had a clogging problem with any of my whistles that required beyond the usual cover blow hole top, blow and shake (hey, that should be a dance).
it’s unlikely to be the whistle
