The Musical Confessional: Step Right In

I’ll go first.

I’m 52 years old and I like Nine Inch Nails.

I have the sound track to “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971)”. I have it on CD.

Also the sound track to “Conan the Barbarian” (which I recently heard being used as background music at an air show).

I want to hear Rammstein sing a cover of “Sakura Sakura”.

You must repent of your Sin lest you find yourself on the Downward Spiral.
For then you would be heard to say, “Help me, I am in Hell!”
As penance, you must listen to Johnny Cash sing “Hurt” 4 times.

Snap! I’m 52 years old too. Oh, wait, no I’m not! I’m older than that, curse it. I withdraw the snap.

I have a Catatonia CD and also one by Maria Muldaur, with “Meet me at the Oasis” on it.

There is also in my stack a CD of New Age Fluff labelled - mislabelled - “Native American”. See? SEE? It’s NOT just the Celts! It came from the Netherlands. How the **** could I have missed that? Oh, the shame!

I’m 42 and I like the music from:

Cinnamoroll

My musical crimes are legion, especially my singles collection.

I own two Enya CDs. I haven’t listened to them in over five years, but I find I also haven’t thrown them away.

Susan

I bought Shaggy - Boombastic, don’t own it anymore though.

I do own a Snoop Dogg album though, but that’s not really a crime.

Some of the pop music I like (but don’t buy any of it) is definitely a crime.

Most of my CD collection would probably be considered a crime if owned by some of the people on this board (and my girlfriend).

Item 1:
On the first mix cd I burned, a few years ago, one of the tracks is “Is She Really Going Out With Him” by Joe Jackson.
The fact that I mostly skip over that track now is no absolution.

Item 2:
At the send-off party for my daughter’s boyfriend–a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua–for lack of an occasion-appropriate standard, everyone sang “Make a Man Out of You” from Mulan, Donny Osmond version.
I was the only person over 22 who obviously knew the lyrics.

No, you are absolved of this. But, I favor the Joe Jackson song “Steppin’ Out.”

To continue my own confession, I like some Tears for Fears songs.

I too. It’s hard to like all TFF songs, or even most. But a select few are grand.
The same goes for INXS.

I own a Spice Girls CD.

The Welsh lot, not the Swedish lot. Equally Cursed and Blessed, I think.

During some years when I was actually buying music, my CD player broke and I have a number of cassettes instead. Now, there are some offences amongst that lot. Including Farouz, Pink Floyd and Led Zepplin bootleg copies from Saudi Arabia. The bootleggers were very generous and would fill up the empty space on the tape with music of a similar nature. The extra stuff on the Pink Floyd tape is Spanish Flamenco…

I’m older than 52. ummmm…even 62. We’ll stop there.

I can’t stand John Coltrane’s playing but I loved the tenor sax scene in the original version of DOA. Go Fisherman! I don’t know what I’d think of it now.

I don’t know if movie confessions are wanted here but I saw Funny Face about 10 times and loved Friendly Persuasion.

I’m two score and seven.
And I listen to Boney M’s “Rivers of Babylon”. :really:

I tried to think of something to put here, but I realized I have nothing to be ashamed of. I like the Spice Girls and Cher AND Enya, and I don’t consider that shameful.

And there’s the shame of it.

I don’t care for nails of any size, but I could go on about carriage bolts for hours.

I’m 53 years old, and besides owning every Irish Rovers record I’ve been able to get my hands on over the last 40 years (pictures at http://home.att.net/~charlene.emerson/scrapbook.html), I also own quite a few records by Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond.

:boggle:

I own a Phil Coulter CD. In my defense, I have been trying to give it away.

Also, when the mood takes me, I really like “Total Eclipse of the Heart” by Bonnie Tyler. (I can’t believe I had the courage to write that. Confession is so liberating… I hope.)

I’m a lag bolt man, myself.

I have all the albums put out by AfroCelt Sound System and play them a couple of times a week.
Hey, it helps me get the housework done

FWIW Ronan Browne was their piper for a while. So there. :stuck_out_tongue:
