I’m trying to play the abovementioned tune on my keyless flute, but it has an F natural in it (i’m going by the Bothy Band slow but boo-tiful version)…and for the life of me, have no idea how to get an F nat. I know that I can half hole the RH2, but it doesn’t work on my flute. Is there any way I can cross finger to get an Fnat…even if it’s not exactly Fnat. Thank you.
Accidentals on a keyless flute don’t work as well as on the whistle. I don’t know of any cross fingerings for f-nat, and half holing is very much hit-and-miss and never powerful (how does Brian Finnegan pull this off
Until recently I was breaking my head over what keyless flute to buy. Then my teacher started off about keys… a few weeks ago I started playing music with some folks - including a fiddler and some singers. They have no sensitivity where keys are concerned. So there I am with my (borrowed) keyless flute, staring deep into my wallet wondering why anyone should wish for more than D, G, and A…
