The Heatons are coming to Ohio!

One of my favorite whistle players is coming back to Ohio (and Illinois and Indiana) and most of the gigs are free. Matt and Shannon Heaton are coming this week and we’re so excited to see them again! (She plays Burkes.)

We first met Matt and Shannon when they played a gig in Chicago with John Doyle and Liz Carroll. These wonderful young people are great musicians, gifted teachers and lovely spirits. I really hope that as many C&Fers as possible get to see them play and/or to attend the session that they’re leading.

I saw the Heatons in East Durham last July… I’m looking forward to seeing them when they come to upstate NY (Caffe Lena) in December.

Sessions and workshops, did you say? I’ll have to see if there’s anything like that planned for NY. But I’m not sure where to look, as I don’t even see the OH workshops listed anywhere other than this thread. Hmmm… They play Caffe Lena on a Saturday, which sure would present the possibility of a workshop.

I think I’ll go send them an email! Can’t hurt to ask.

Hi,

If you go to their schedule page: http://mattandshannonheaton.com/schedule.html

and click on the little tiny “i” symbol, it gives details about the gigs coming up. The Claddagh gig is a session and the Kent State gigs are workshops.

They are both excellent teachers and session leaders.
