Those dark dune spots represent the best chance of finding microbial life on Mars, actually. The seasonal pattern they follow can’t be attributed to any non-organic means, the way they begin underneath the ice in the Martian spring and then spread until they reach the surface, then recede as the Martian winter approaches.
I have a whole paper on it written by a bunch of Hungarian scientists that’s pretty interesting if anyone cares. I can email it if somebody wants it.
I know. I got Hungarian just looking at it. Yum!
If the paper has a Spanish or English translation I’ll be glad to read it.
The title of this thread makes me think someone could write lyrics to go with the tune Yellow Rose of Texas about the subject of the title.
