Since I’m just gushing over with holiday good will (and the party’s only half way through), I want to take the opportunity to extend thanks to those of you on the list for your contributions over the year. I’ve learned a lot.
Thanks both to the “experts” who share a wealth of knowledge and to those who ask naive questions that lead to the exchanges. (You can decide which group you’re in; I’m not going there.)

The Moderators have directed the forums into new and notably civilised places for discussion and debate without losing any of the positive characters and personalities, erudite and otherwise, who grace these pages so thoughtfully and humorously …

I learned so much from all of you. I’ve also been pleased when I’ve read a post from one of the more knowledgeable folks and found that my natural instints were right on track or even better, totally off course.
