To all on the flute forum, I would like to take the time to offer a warm and generous thank you, to those who knew the questions to ask, and to all who gave of their time, knowledge/experience in answering those questions on this forum.
I’m not one for asking questions when I have a problem, I’m the one who stubbornly works it out for himself, by reading- here especially and on other forums or websites, by constantly listening and watching those that do play the flute and then listening to them talk about it.
I bought a Casey Burn’s Mopane flute in D, a year and half ago - heck almost two years now and it is only now that it is coming together as I stated in the post “How difficult?” by Tim. And without a teacher, it was shear determination, a hundreds of pounds of frustration, almost bordering on hate and abandonment, and my stubborn tenacious character, that I now can play with confidence, ten slow airs with with good confidence.
I practice one hour a day religiously and will do two or more if ALL things are going right.
I have played the whistle and bodhran for ten years now, but this is the hardest thing I have ever attempted to learn. It is even harder than going to university as adult and getting two degrees.
I also want to thank Dale and Rich for allowing this forum to exist and florish.
So thank you all.
And I would also wish you all, the best of the season, however you believe it.

PS: In Dave’s your Holy Grail post. I have come to love my Burns mopane in D and can’t think of any time in near or distant future of evern wanting another flute, and I ain’t goin to argue it!
