Tanahill Weavers coming to Oregon

Hi ya’ll,
Is anyone planning to go to see the Tannies next saturday in Portland?
I am visiting my folks up here in Washington, thought I would pop down to Portland to see them. Should be a great concert! They will be playing at the Hollywood theater, (not in Hollywood…) :blush: jon

Where are you in Washington? :slight_smile: If you’re near Seattle we ought to meet up for some tunes.

I’d like to see them but I don’t think it’ll be happening. I did catch them in Boise last year though - excellent! Get your tix in advance as they were sold out when I went and I only got in because someone was a no show. And bring a recording device if you’ve got one, I regretting not doing so!

Not only are the Weavers excellent musicians but they are very funny as well, they told jokes and stories throughout their concert. It was great - enjoy!

Forgive me for being a Celtic newbie- I’ve not been familiar with the Weavers, but they sound excellent… very “folky” with lots of harmony… perhaps I might look into a ticket if it’s not too late.

Danu is playing Portland on Thursday also, just in case you were interested… I found that out when I saw Dervish there last week :smiley:

I am staying in Toledo WA. just south of Olympia.
I am going to be in Seatle Tomorrow to see Dougie Mcleane at the
“Town Hall” :roll: I was planning to drive up early and check out the “Lark of the Morning” music store, and goof around town… Leave me a PM if you have time to get together befor the concert. :slight_smile:

If anyone can get to see them you will not be dissapointed.
I saw them a few years back in Bristol and they were great.

Thanks Silverton for the heads up on Danu! Great concert! The new female member adds a lot to the group, she also plays the pennywhistle…
Tannies where awsome! Great group. They gave a stunning performance.

P.s. Alas, no more money, but lots of concerts, CD’s and even a small bodhran with Danu painted on it, got it for $15… :smiley:
