Taking the fam to San Fran tomorrow...

I just want to make sure that there isn’t some nude bike ride or nude parade going on that I need to worry about.

Anyone in the city that can tell me if anything obscure is planned for this coming weekend that I need to worry about having my 6 year old daughter seeing.

Not obscure, however, this is the first weekend for gay marriages in California. I might think there would be a lot of wedding folks out and about all over town. Some folks are flying in from other states or countries, so in some tourist areas there may be mobile parties going on.

I don’t mind that…as long as they keep their clothes on…

Go visit the Memorial Oak Grove at UC Berkley on your way into town, I hear it’s real nice this time of year.

ha!!!

I’d rather not have Dumpster Muffins poop on me for the rest of the day, thanks though!

I’ve just been reading about the Steinhart Aquarium in SF. Apparently it has the largest living coral aquarium in the US. That would definitely be on my list of things to see.

Uh, I hate to be a bearer of gloom, but man, we are having the worst heat wave in a long time. It was 90something at my house yesterday and is today.

IF the fog comes in, you’ll be all right. Otherwise, you can expect a lot of grumpuses. Bring your suits and sandals and go down to Ocean Beach. A day at the Beach in SF that does not require multiple layers is rare indeed.. You can even dip yer toes at Hyde Street Pier if this heat keeps up. I love that pier, the boats are kewl.

I think wedding action will be around City Hall. All the other wedding venues were already booked up before the decision.

weeks…its 100 here right now…I’m in a hotter climate than you are…I think we can handle the 90’s…

Thanks though!! :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s 100 at Van Ness right now.

THis is something you hardly ever see in June. Usually, it gets hot in September. It’s supposed to cool a bit by tomorrow.

It’s very nice; unfortunately, it doesn’t open again to the public until fall (I think they’re aiming at September). All of the fish were moved from the temporary aquarium on Howard, but the new building in Golden Gate Park won’t be open to the public until autumn.

The Conservatory of Flowers in Golden Gate Park is nice, though, and one large room is full of butterflies, which your kid might like. Assuming the critters haven’t all perished in the heat (it’s definitely not been a typical couple of days in SF, temperature-wise – anything over 76 degrees already gets me panting, but 100?! In June? Yikes.)

We ended up going to the city yesterday also to get out of the heat in the South Bay. We went to the zoo and it was a gorgeous day!

yes…it was a perfect day for visiting…my kids had a blast and there were people everywhere!! I haven’t seen San Francisco that busy in a long time…
