The South West Uilleann Pipers will be having their yearly weekend of piping fun (Tionol some calls it) on the 5/6/7th of Nov., I understand it is to be held in Bude (Cornwall) this year. It is said that Brian McNamara is the Piping teacher of choice. Some reedmaking will be lashed, hacked and made mystical too! So get yourselves there. If you’re on the island of the UK or the smaller one next door, go to Bude. The SWAUP boys are the best crack ever.
I’ve been to a good few piping weekend over the years and hands down, SWAUP have it down to a tee. Lots of great characters, great tunes and good local beer too. A combination that resulted in one of, if not THE best piping weekend I have ever attended.
Definitly go if you can!!!

speaking of SWAUP, what’s happened to Steve Turner? He posted some nice tunes here a few years back, it would be nice to hear some more.
