Staying Cool - The Indiana Way

There is already a topic about “hot”, but with the heat index here today at 105 F degrees I would rather have a topic with the word “cool”. Suppose you live in the middle of a little rust-belt city in the midwest and the summertime temperature becomes unbearable. What should you do?
Here is an idea that I saw in Attica, Indiana. A store owner in downtown Attica painted the block wall behind his business with an inviting seascape. The tiki lamps and the waterfall are real. I was tempted to leave my hot car and lie on the grass in the afternoon shade. Keep in mind that in virtual reality you can come and join me.

I feel cooler already. What a neat idea.

Fling a beach towel on the floor, get a spray bottle of water, and lie naked on the floor in front of a fan. Spritz every now and then.

Kiddie pools – the hard plastic round ones – are also delightful. Put it in a nice spot, fill, and relax with a good book.

Is it a party? Are we invited?

Can I be bringing my elephant?
He is needing bath.

I’m afraid I have a tendency to stick to the floor. :astonished:

…and then there’s Staying Cool --the western North Carolina way. :smiling_imp:

(That’s my sister-in-law, brother, nephew and niece on the starboard side).

Use a bigger beach towel.

Around here, we just turn on the air conditioning, but that sounds nice, too.

Or lay down a layer of talcum power first.

 Brilliant!
