I guess I feel good that I’m not the only one who has heard enough from this guy. I tuned in for about 30 seconds and sure enough, same old b.s.-Then I tuned back in to " Imitation of Life" on TCM. -----I heard Jerry Brown (Mayor of Oakland) on the radio this morning and among other things he was saying how it struck him as beneath the Congress to be jumping up and down at every opportunity like it was a high school pep rally. ---- That reminds me of the words to a song, “You think they’re so dumb, you think they’re so funny, just wait until they got you running to their night rally” -------------mike

It’s sort of like Family Feud: “Good answer, good answer!” (Even when some guy answers “rhododendron” to “animals that begin with ‘r’”.)

I don’t understand how so many good people, like my parents, can have such different perspectives from so many other good people. If what is good and right seems so obvious to me, how come it seems the opposite to them?

Fluoridation. This country’s moral fiber has been undermined by fluoridation.

Bloo, once again you prove yourself a master at finding the underlying answer – at least according to my cousin. He and his wife are absolute fanatics about fluoride being removed from the drinking water. They’re at the head of a group of people who’ve managed to get the fluoridation removal issue on the ballot twice in our county (defeated both times). They write letters to the editor and accost perfectly innocent people on the street to ask how they’re going to vote on the issue and then harangue them if it’s not the “right” answer. Personally I think they’ve been drinking too much unfluoridated water and I don’t admit to anyone that I’m related to them.

I heard it on the radio. And tried hard to remain open to positives. If I were to try to choose a point to refute, I’d be hard pressed. My reaction seems to totally bypass my brain and go straight to my gut.

My mother called afterwards. She feels that God wants her to support the President, and after seeing the touching scene between an Iraqi girl and a grieving U.S. mother of a soldier, she felt affirmed. I didn’t tell her that God is giving me other instructions. I just let her talk.

jennie, my mother is the same way. it is very painfull for me to see her being douped by his jargin. i think it probably comes from the fear buttons he has pressed, thus being allowed to enter the hearts of many americans. she is 87.

Well, for one, both regimes are/were very fond of large bureaucracies!
