Squeaky Howard low D

So I’ve pulled my Howard low D out of the ol’ whistlebag for the first time in a while, and I’m having a really tough time getting a sound out of it.

While it’s a big stretch, I’ve never had any trouble covering all the holes in the past, so I’m thinking maybe something’s amiss where the fipple meets the body.

I’ve looked at it and tried some plumber’s tape like so:

but the tape doesn’t seem to help get rid of the squeak.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

ROFL! I think it’s just been WAAAAYYYYY too long since you played it, guy!

I wonder if that was the problem with my Cooperman. Can mice get in soprano D one-piece whistles? Must’ve been a baby mouse.

Ooohh! Poor old mouse!
