They do a wonderful job of alternating between the purely scientific and abstract, and using vivid illustrations from everyday life. Ex. the way a larger star burns out more quickly (even though it has more fuel) was represented by a gambler who has more money but runs through it faster.
We were watching an episode last night and every time they showed stars / galaxies colliding, they used sounds from a demolition derby.
Kinda cheesy, but hilarious 
Now I can’t look at this picture without imagining the soundtrack!
There goes the neighborhood!
Hope there aren’t any smart guys on any of those planets…they’d be bound to find the whole situation fairly discouraging!
