SOLD - Sloan Half Set

Dear C&F pipers

I have a Sloan standard half set that I bought in February 2001. Following the standard “seven years’ practice” advice I find I just haven’t taken to the pipes as I had hoped. In fact, for the last 3 years I have been mostly learning the flute instead. Regrettably, I think the time has come to sell the pipes.

Tech spec.
Blackwood all round (chanter and drones). Bag and bellows leak free. The chanter was fitted with a reed by Fred Morrison in 2005 which I still use, although I still have the original Sloan chanter reed. The tenor drone reed no longer seems to work, although it may just need re-binding. I rarely play with the drones on these days.

The pipes are very clean and tidy and I have looked after them well and keep them in a soft saxophone case when they’re not in use.

Price
Ray’s pipes are £2300 (2880 Euros) new. I would like to get £2000 for mine, but am open to negotiation within reason for things like postage and packaging. I will include the case which is very handy for general travelling but it’s not a flight case.

I will take pics for anyone who is interested and send them privately.

Any interested parties please p.m. me.
Thanks
m.d.

UPDATE!

This half set is still for sale. All details still applicable, but I’ve decided to lower the price in order to try and get a sale. The money will be going towards an Olwell flute that I hope to get in about a hundred years from now -

NEW PRICE £1500 STERLING plus P&P to be negotiated. At today’s exchange rate, that’s $2428 or EURO1657.

If anyone is interested in a very nice half set at this price, please email me at markmalinky@hotmail.com

Thanks
m.d.

I play a Ray Sloan 1/2 set and it is a great set. I have had many compliments on its tone. If I did not have one already I would get this one

For info, the pipes have now gone to a spiffing new home in Canada and I am adjusting well to life as an ex-piper.

Thanks for the interest.
