I’m clearing out a few whistles that have been collecting dust lately in my music cabinet. The Chieftain is a nontunable low D that I bought at the Lark here in SF about 4 years ago. It plays nice and smoothly with a deep, resonant tone, and is particularly good for legato playing, definitely an easy-blower. However, its tuning has gone off a bit since I first got it, and the tone has become slightly breathy as well. It’s yours for $50, quite a bargain especially if you’re at all adept with tweaking or would have it done for you.
The Susato is a Kildare model, about the same vintage. It’s in good shape, a little normal wear, but plays like a Susato should, loud and clear.
Yours for $20.
The Gens are an F and an Eb, both in practically new condition. I’d like $5 a piece for each.
