We’ve been celebrating all weekend. Played an early Paddy’s gig on Friday; our local pub landlady (who is a Dubliner) did coddle for everyone on Saturday, and last night I saluted the saint with a number of Guinnesses. Also burned a few compilation CDs of Dubs, Clancy’s Bothys, Planxty, Christy, Pogues, Micho, Stocktons Wing etc as background music for the pub.
Not a bad weekend.
Now there’s a pleasant thought

Yo Budd, a Dublin landlady..aren’t you the lucky one. The Landlady of my local is pure died in the wool Orange, God bless her. Half of her customers are Irish and the other half Jamaican so it is very rarely she sticks her head above the parapet..

A Selkirk Bannock (this one’s almost history)
A big old hunk of shortbread
A loaf of Soda Bread
yeah, I do love bread…

I didn’t get around to making anything today…we have family coming in. But you’ve inspired me, Cowtime…I think I’ll make some shortbread for the kids tomorrow.
I vacuumed the carpet in celebration.
