I remember some time somone recommending a product for shining brass that doesn’t stain, can anyone recommend a good product that would be available in Ireland. Thanks a million, my pipes are minging!
flitz…great stuff…i ordered from www.flitz.com had it in about 5 days to ireland
Where does it say Flitz doesn’t stain? I just use automotive chrome cleaner (Autosol), but I have to be careful to mask off the wood and trim.

Cape Cod Ploshing Cloths are brilliant. They are very easy to use and do a smashing job. No staining. They don’t show it on the website but at my local hardware store you can get a packet of 2 instead of buying a whole tin.

Duraglit, if they still make it. I’ve recently bought something here (Canada) that closely resembles it called (… pause while I open the tool box …) NEVR DULL.
Also what do you pipers recommend for cleaning the wood part of a chanter? Mine gets a bit grimey from contact with my hands. I’d love to clean the wood up a bit.
Playing pipes after eating KFC doesn’t help, either! (as Fat Basturd says…I want you in ma belly!!!) ![]()
Mmmmm. Deep fried UPs! ![]()

NEVR DULL is great, but are you sure it doesn’t leave a harmful residue?
There’s no visible residue (unlike with other products) and so far I’ve not noticed any deterioration in the finish of either the brass or the wood of my set.
A little white toothpaste on a clean cloth does wonders for brass, doesn’t hurt the wood and leaves your pipes Minty fresh..

According to mikie smyths sleeve notes on his cd, they could be shinning instead of shining
ouch my legs!
