Does anyone (besides the person who just had his/her low Shaw tweaked by Jerry with favorable results) play/own a low D Shaw whistle who would willingly give a report on whether they’re playable or not? I have a B flat Shaw which is wonderful, and a Shaw high D that is not so wonderful. Input, please? It seems like the shape would make it easier to play than some other low Ds. Thank you!
I have a Shaw low d that I play at times. I like it in general, but it requires a lot of air. I played someone else’s low d (can’t remember the name) and it was easy and fun to play. I’ve not played the Shaw low d much with other musicians.
Michael, thanks so much for answering. And that clip. . .! Wow!! I’d never guess it took any extra oomph of air the way you play. Toetapping AND beautiful!
