Seths delivery time

Hi All…simple question…is Seth Gallagher accurate with his delivery dates for his sets?

I am certain he is as accurate with his timing as nature, the laws of physics and the absence of unforeseen complications will allow him to be. Being hand made, there are a lot of hurdles to jump when making these things that rushing will only make higher.

Having said that, I am just as (or more) impatient as the next guy…right Mr. Boisvert?

With both my practice set and upgrade to a 1/2 set Seth was very accurate!

I wonder if discussions such as this are best handled though PMs.

The slightest misinterpretation of a post could cost over-worked and underpayed makers (which is pretty much all of them) some business.

Good point.

Good point, but Droner’s only asking the question. I guess he wants to place an order and doesn’t want to face an unexpected and disappointing delay later.

Should he have pm’d a random selection of us on the offchance that we knew? Or should we only reply if we are going to do so in positive terms?

Those with a tale of woe to tell: stay off the board! It’s a hard one, I guess. No easy solutions.

I can say with confidence…if Seth says it’ll be ready it will. He recently did some adjustments to my chanters. I got them back WITHIN the week. He works 7 days a week. That I know for sure.

There have been posts to this forum in the not too distant past that got out of hand regarding pipemakers, and one maker complained to Dale, who in turn wasn’t at all pleased with the UP forum… and threatened to pull it off C&F. Tommkleen is reminding us of this, and it is (IMHO) a valid caution.

Good one, then.

I agree people seem to feel free to say the most defaming things on the net and I don’t like it. I think we need to behave like a civilized and considerate society, though, rather than impose a ban on open (and fair) comment. Like I said before… no easy solutions.

I guess we all say things we regret later and most of us have probably posted a few things we should have thought more about, too. I know I have!

Call Seth and ask how his schedule is running. I’ve had some chanters reeded and keywork done. He advised me he was finishing a few large orders and to wait 3 weeks before sending the pipes, The work was done promptly and mailed back to me in just a few weeks.
I ordered a B chanter that also came in on schedule.

If you have any concerns, Droner, best go to the source and ask. Seth is a very nice fellow and I am sure he will assist you with any questions you may have regarding his instruments. I have always been able to reach him by phone.
