Since the previous Last Server Move Ever went so well, we’re doing it again! This time it’s a real move, though – someone’s picking up the machine and carrying it to a different building, then plugging it in again.
As always, it’ll take some time for the new address to propagate across the 'net. It shouldn’t take longer than 24 hours.
You won’t be able to get to the machine at
all during the time it’s in the back of
someone’s car, and you won’t be able to get
to it again after that until the address
change propagates.
You’ve could have left it in the car and use wireless service, running the server off the car battery — not quite Dale Force One, but for security reasons, not having the server in one location might heighten its security aspects.
Oh! I forgot — the server at the Nisbet Inn really moves on a Thursday night when fifteen or so of us show up to have a session, and she is usually working alone.
